Q. Why do I need CanSPAM from Internet Pro
A. Unwanted e-mail ("spam") is a growing problem. Spam is forming a larger and larger percentage of all e-mail, and the time spent dealing with spam causes genuine productivity loss.
In addition, viruses and other e-mail-borne malware continue to pose a security risk to most organizations. As our monitoring system shows, viruses and trojans now form a constant "background noise" on the Internet. The most effective way to stop spam and malware is at your mail server, before it has a chance to reach end-users.
Q. What kinds of spam does it stop?
A. At Internet Pro, we treat all spam equally. Our filters are set to detect e-mails that use the techniques of spamware, phishing, obfuscation, fraud, advertising, virus distribution and more. Q. Does CANSPAM include anti-virus software?
A. CANSPAM combats viruses in three ways:
• The default filter can be configured to block "dangerous" attachments, where "dangerous" signifies any attachment capable of carrying a Windows virus. These rules catch almost all viruses, and have successfully stopped new viruses which were not yet even in anti-virus signature databases.
• Virus writers increasingly use spamming software to deliver their work. CANSPAM stops virus threats like these.
• In addition to the default filtering rules, CANSPAM is bundled with Clam AntiVirus and interfaces to the following virus scanners: F-Risk's F-PROT and F-PROTD, F-Secure's FSAV, H+BEDV AntiVir, Network Associates' uvscan, Norman Virus Control, Sophos Sweep, Symantec CarrierScan Server, Trend Micro's vscan and Vexira Anti-Virus.
Q. How does CANSPAM save time? A person must still decide the ultimate fate of messages.
A. No automatic solution can perfectly differentiate spam from legitimate e-mail. To make sure you don't lose legitimate e-mail, CANSPAM relies on some human intervention. However, CANSPAM still offers a large productivity gain over simply tagging spam and allowing end-users to deal with it.

Q. How do I start using the CANSPAM solution from Internet Pro?
A. The one requirement to using our system is that all your domains emails will be put through the server. In other words you cannot have email@example.com cleaned and not firstname.lastname@example.org . Its either all your businss domains emails are cleaned or none. However its an easy setup and does not change the way your use your email services at the moment. It will be exactly the same except NO SPAM!
Q. What about privacy issues? Spam-control officers may inadvertently read private e-mail.
A. This is true and you need to inform your end-users. CANSPAM is designed for companies and organizations that use e-mail for business purposes. CANSPAM's design assumes that you have a legitimate right to control the messages passing through your mail system. You can mitigate privacy concerns as follows:
1. Configure CANSPAM to HOLD borderline e-mails for our Administrators to review on your end-users behalf, allowing them to stay focussed on their work.
2. Configure CANSPAM to TAG borderline e-mails and allow end users to check them.
Q. CANSPAM can use blacklists. Isn't there a chance it will reject valid e-mail?
A. Blacklists are enabled, if your clients are on blacklists you probably don't want to be doing business with them.
Q. Can CANSPAM use DNS-based real-time blacklists?
A. Yes. CANSPAM to uses multiple DNS-based blacklists.
Q. Does CANSPAM filter web content? Files on file servers?
A. No. CANSPAM is strictly used for e-mail. We concentrate on providing highly focused, highly efficient e-mail filtering services.
Q. Do the default CANSPAM anti-virus rules scan inside ZIP archives and the like?
A. Yes. CANSPAM scans attachments inside ZIP files for viruses.
Q. Does CANSPAM filter outgoing e-mail?
A. CANSPAM may be configured to filter e-mail leaving your mail server. This can be useful for organizations that want to protect their domains by ensuring that no spam or viruses exit their servers. This can be extremely useful to prevent all your clients being bombarded with emails due to a virus entering an employee’s machine and sending out mail to everyone in their address book.
